Patrick Michels, Editor

Patrick Michels is based in Dallas, and has been the Texas Independent editor since July 2011. A California native and a Texan by choice, he has been a staff writer and web editor for the Dallas Observer, and covered state politics for the Texas Observer. Mary Tuma, Reporter

Mary Tuma has worked for The Houston Chronicle, Community Impact Newspaper and interned for The Texas Observer. Tuma graduated from The University of Texas’ School of Journalism where she served as an associate editor for The Daily Texan as well as president of the Society of Professional Journalists. Teddy Wilson, Reporter

Teddy Wilson is an undergraduate student and a veteran, based out of College Station. Teddy has been involved with independent media for over three years, and for the last two years been the a producer and management team member of the community radio station 89.1FM KEOS.
